THREATS MADE TO SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE TODAY - 1st December 2016

Posted 1 December 2016

As you may or may not be aware, there have been a number of bomb threats made to our schools in New Zealand today, Thursday 1st December 2016.

THE RECOMMENDATION FROM HARRISON TEW IS THAT IF YOU RECEIVE A BOMB THREAT, THE SCHOOL IS TO BE EVACUATED - NOT LOCKED DOWN.

Remember, you are prepared and confident to deal with the situation and keep your staff, students and visitors safe.

Please refer to your Emergency Management Plan folder, which is also available online through your secure login at www.harrisontew.co.nz. By following your plan you will ensure a consistent response and strong communication flow through the school, and to the community, ensuring a positive response to this issue.

A de-brief needs to be conducted after the evacuation.  It is also important that the students be spoken to, to ensure any issues or concerns they have are discussed.

Please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Julia immediately if you have any queries or concerns:
